hell week

wow… what a week! a simple request to help out with a critical support issue on one of our larger customers on jan 14th quickly grew into one of the longest work weeks i’ve ever experienced. for 7 straight days i was working 16-20 hour days and getting 3-5 hours sleep most nights. i’m guessing that would have continued if we hadn’t got the situation mostly under control by friday, at least enough that i was able to pass things over to other people on my team and get out of town for a quick trip that was planned last year. if only i’d known just how much i’d have earned that break! i’m glad i don’t get pulled into these sorts of things very often…
