ok, this is my computer page. i've decided to throw some info on what i'm running and the software i use. comments and questions welcome.

my main system includes the following:

i also have a second system which is mostly a firewall but also what i normally irc from. i also occasionally use it to test out web stuff, but it doesnt really do much else. here's its configuration:

• ASUS P55TVP4 motherboard
• 80MB 72pin RAM
• Trident 1mb PCI video card
• 2 Realtek 10/100 pci nics
• Aureal Vortex A3D pci sound card
• Western Digital 6.4gb 5400rpm hard drive
• Quantum 1.6GB hard drive
• 200/420mb tape backup
• NEC 4x4 cdrom changer
• 3.5" floppy drive
• Mitsumi 102 keyboard

and i've also got a third system, my laptop. it's a Sony Vaio VX89, Mobile Intel Pentium III 900MHz, 256MB ram, 30GB hard drive, 14.1" screen, 802.11b, with an external cdrw/dvd drive. it's pretty and thin and fairly light and i use it pretty heavily.

most of my time is spent in the wonderful linux environment. i presently run redhat linux 7.3 on both my systems. i spend a lot of time on the internet, programming, and just playing around and i love linux. i recommend that everyone install it on their computer so that they can see the sheer beauty of a well written, well maintained, and free operating system. (plus my favorite dos command is "deltree c:\windows" or equivalently from linux "rm -rf /c/windows/")
